Happy Birthday Douglas!
This year we had a lot of fun celebrating Doug's birthday multiple times. The first celebration was this Saturday with Doug's family and grandma's and my immediate family. It was good to get together with everyone since some were not traveling with us the next week and wouldn't be with Doug on his actual birthday. Doug had mentioned he couldn't remember the last time he had a full-blown birthday party for just him, so it was a lot of fun to make his birthday a big deal. I love hosting parties and having everyone over at our house, so it was a great time. And I had been waiting for this day for about 3 months. I was so excited to give Doug his presents that I had kept a secret for months - which I usually can't do. I get way too anxious and give presents as soon as I get them, so I was proud I lasted so long! If I do say so myself, I had the perfect presents for Doug this year - a picture he had wanted for years (The Prayer at Valley Forge), Super Nintendo games Donkey Kong and Aladdin, and an Anaheim Angels hat to add to his collection. He also received the collector's book "The Fate of the Prosecutors of Joseph Smith" from my family and a cologne set from his family. He even got his Grandma H to make him a bowl full of her famous rice pudding! Thanks to everyone and happy birthday Doug!
