Happy Easter!

It took me a while to get this post up here, but I did want to talk about how much fun we had on Easter Sunday. We spent the first half of the day with Doug's family at his Grandma Higginson's house. Since Doug served his mission in Georgia he learned definite Southern styles of cooking, which included many, many foods that were deep fried. So this year for Easter he decided to deep fry a turkey! This isn't even something I had heard of before he brought it up! He was a little nervous since he had only assisted in the deep-frying process, but he ended up mastering the entire meal. The turkey was delicious and he also cooked dutch oven potatoes and apple cobbler. This picture just kills me because you can see how proud he is of his masterpiece - almost as proud as a new father :) We then caught the tail end of my Johnson family party at my Aunt Diane's house, which is the best part anyway, because that is when the easter egg hunt is held. My Aunt Lecia always puts on a great hunt, hiding money and prizes in the eggs. I walked away with $11 and Doug came away with $6, plus a few candybars. Not as good as last year (we got like $30 in gift certificates and like $30 in cash!) but not bad. It was a beautiful day too, so it was so fun to be outside. I can even say that Doug and I got our first sunburns of the season! (Don't you love the shirt I'm sporting? Allison went to the Hard Rock Cafe in Tokyo and brought me back the coolest shirt which I love!)
