This year for Doug's birthday I gave him a total surprise. He had no clue what we were doing and it was so fun to keep a secret. I woke up at 4:30 in the morning to set up a scavenger hunt to lead him to plane tickets to travel to Denver! He didn't expect it at all, which the funnest part of it. We packed in a hurry and rushed off to the airport. We only made 1 mistake - April in Utah was warm, so we dressed like we were ready for summer. However when we arrived in Denver it was an absolute blizzard so we were freezing the entire time! We stayed at the contemporary fashioned Hyatt just a block away from the 16th street mall. We spent our time shopping on the mile long mall, and eating at incredible restaurants. Our favorite was the Cheesecake Factory which was absolutely wonderful. We also went to the Hard Rock Cafe which was a blast. We rented a car (a BRIGHT blue PT Cruiser that made us feel like we lived in the Flintstones!) and drove to the Denver temple, which took us forever to find. We drove way too far and ended up in the boonies, but eventually happened upon it. The temple is beautiful and we were so glad we made the journey. This was just the most relaxing trip and me and Doug absolutely loved Denver!
